Farm History

The original 713 acres were purchased by James T. Ovenell and Harold Pierson in the 1940’s and named the P&O Hereford Ranch.  By 1960, James and Mary Ovenell were sole owners and the name changed to Double O Ranch.  In 1997, a B&B and log cabins were added.  The farm is now in its fourth generation.

Cattle have a very good memory and can see more than 300 degrees vs. humans that see 180 degrees.  Cows and humans share about 80% of their genomic make up.
